Mindful BeginningsSafety and Confidence for All Ages

after school clubs

We come to your school and bring everything. Ten clubs for elementary schools, taught by certified teachers and registered nurses. Each club meets for one hour a week, and every week is hands on: kids practice real skills in small groups, role play, build and make things, and leave each session with something they can use at home.

At a glance

Every club is also offered in Spanish. Title I schools receive deeply discounted programming, just ask.

The clubs

My First Babysitter's Club badge

My First Babysitter's Club

Grades 4 to 5

The first step toward babysitting. Members learn to be a Parent's Helper: a trusted extra set of hands while a parent is home. Each week pairs a safety lesson with real practice on dolls, props and role play.

Take home: a club handbook, a stocked helper activity kit and a certificate.

Little Medics badge

Little Medics

Grades K to 2

A first aid club for the youngest helpers. Little Medics learn what an emergency is, how to get help fast and how to take care of the small stuff: scrapes, bumps, bug bites and nosebleeds.

Take home: a Little Medic certificate and a mini first aid kit.

Pet Sitter's Club badge

Pet Sitter's Club

Grades 3 to 5

For kids who want to care for animals and earn a little money doing it. Members learn what dogs, cats and small pets need, how to stay safe around animals they do not know, and how to run a pet sitting job from first visit to final payment.

Take home: a pet care log, a flyer template for their first job and a certificate.

Snack Squad badge

Snack Squad

Grades 2 to 5

A kitchen club with no stove required. Snack Squad makes a new snack every week while learning kitchen safety, clean hands, food allergies and how to read a label, so kids can make something for themselves after school.

Take home: a recipe card every week and a Snack Squad apron.

Kid Boss Club badge

Kid Boss Club

Grades 4 to 5

Young entrepreneurs turn an idea into a real product or service. Over the session members pick an idea, figure out what it costs, set a price, make a pitch and sell at a pop up on the final day.

Take home: a business plan page, their product or flyer and a Kid Boss certificate.

Middle School, Here I Come badge

Middle School, Here I Come

Grade 5

A head start on the biggest school change yet. Fifth graders practice the parts of middle school nobody teaches: opening a locker, reading a schedule, keeping track of six teachers and speaking up for themselves.

Take home: a middle school ready checklist and a planner they set up in club.

Big Sibling Club badge

Big Sibling Club

Grades K to 3

For kids with a baby or little sibling at home, or one on the way. Big siblings learn gentle, safe ways to help, what babies and toddlers can and cannot do, and that big feelings about a new sibling are normal.

Take home: a Big Sibling certificate and a helper page for home.

My First Phone badge

My First Phone

Grades 4 to 5

For kids getting a first phone, or about to. Members learn the habits that keep a phone from becoming a problem: passwords, privacy, group chats, screen time and what to do the moment something online feels wrong.

Take home: a family phone agreement to finish at home.

Walk and Roll Ready badge

Walk and Roll Ready

Grades 2 to 5

Getting around the neighborhood safely on foot, on a bike or on a scooter. Members practice the rules of the road, learn what to do if they get separated from a group and plan the route they actually take.

Take home: a safe route map and a Walk and Roll Ready certificate.

Calm and Ready badge

Calm and Ready

Grades K to 5

A feelings toolbox for every kid. Members learn to name what they feel, notice it in their bodies and use simple tools that work in the moment, at school and at home, so a hard feeling does not run the whole day.

Take home: a calm down toolbox card and a feelings check in page for home.

Bring clubs to your school

Schools choose the clubs, the days and the session length. Clubs can run as a standalone offering, through an after school enrichment provider, or as a PTA program.

Get started

How it works

  1. 1

Tell us which clubs you want, which grades and which days, and we build the schedule around your dismissal time.

  2. 2

We handle instructors, materials and supplies.

  3. 3

A minimum of six students is needed to run a club. If the minimum is not met, the club simply does not run.

  4. 4

Clubs can be tailored. If your school needs something not listed here, ask.
